At Rs 1.5 crore for a 10-minute appearance in Himesh Reshammiya's film, Mallika Sherawat enters the Marlon Brando league of payment.

Mallika Sherawat has often been heard saying that she'd either work for great scripts or for 'obscene' amounts of money. And she has proved it yet again, by charging a heart-stopping amount for her 10-minute appearance in Himesh Reshammiya's film, Aap Ka Suroor. Although she prefers to remain silent about the deal, our source reveals, "Mallika has been paid an astounding Rs 1.5 crore for her role in the movie. The amount is shocking given that her role is a cameo of precisely a screen time of around 10 minutes." This amount can only be compared to another Hollywood actor Marlon Brando. For his 10-minute role in Superman in 1978, he was paid $14 million or $1.4 million per minute, making him the highest-paid actor per minute, and now Mallika has become the highest-paid Bollywood actor per minute.

At Rs 15 lakh per minute, the amount is staggering. Known for her risqué appearances in films (or private events), Mallika has become a valid brand name. And with Bollywood itself having gone up a notch higher with its pay scales, Mallika has begun to realize that money talks. According to sources, for a 30-minute appearance at a New Year bash, she was paid almost a crore. Says a source, "Mallika is one of the most expensive guests to have for inaugurations or visits at functions. She doesn't cut ribbons for less than Rs 15-20 lakh; this is much more than what other actors charge."

Well, may be it's fair considering there's a lot more to watch out for when Mallika is around. Mallika Sherawat remained unavailable for comment.
